New Amazon Echo Rumored to Launch Next Month
According to AFTVnews, Amazon is ready to release a new Amazon Echo device next month. This new device, code named “Knight” is rumored to have a built-in touchscreen. At this point, there is nothing official from Amazon on the release of this product, but there are a few rumors.
Based on the picture, it looks like this device will sit on a counter top like the Echo does today. The screen is at a slight angle, making it easy to use without having to be sitting directly in front of it. Because the device is larger, there is speculation that the speakers are better then the Echo. There is also a small circle above the screen which is likely a camera.
There are lots of rumors about Amazon adding phone capabilities to their Echo devices, so this would be a perfect device for video conferencing. There are already Alexa-enabled devices on the market today with these capabilities, like the Nucleus Anywhere.
As for cost, its speculated to be in the $200 to $300 range. The Nucleus Anywhere is $215 right now and includes most of the features that are expected in the new Echo device.
